Starting Pay Rate: $16.73
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Remove and replace track components, i.e., rail, ties, third rail, stone ballast, crossovers, switches, mates, guard rails, rail fastening systems. Assist in the aligning, surfacing and gauging.
* Perform manual excavation associated with the removal, replacement and installation of various track components.
* Mix and place concrete, rail channel filler, grout paving and temporary paving.
* Use and maintain tools appropriate to the assigned duties such as rail tongs, spiking hammer, impact wrench, etc.
* Erect temporary lighting at work areas such as string and cluster lights.
* Lift and carry items weighing up to 100 lbs. per equipment piece.
QUALIFICATIONS:
* Must have one year of work experience in either construction, landscaping or manual labor/maintenance.
* Must have a valid Pa. driver's license or equivalent.
* Must satisfactorily complete written qualifications tests at SEPTA Test Center. Must sucessfully complete required performance test.
* Must possess an acceptable attendance, performance, and safety record, as measured through established criteria (see below).
ACCEPTANCE CRITERIA
I. Attendance Allowable Points = 10 (each year) within a two year period.
II. Attendance, performance and safety records per year, as measured by a two year period, going back two years from start date of this posting:
