Salary range: minimum $47,138 –midpoint $62,842-maximum $75,400

Overall responsibility:The Project Engineer shall be assigned to the Track Department managing third party contractors in major construction projects, (i.e. Linc Belt, Siding Extension on the R5 Doylestown Line). This position requires a background in construction practices including quality assurance and an understanding of business practices.
Specific Responsibilities:
• Consult with Senior level engineers/supervisors in project definition.
• Assist in preparation of budgets for proposed projects and work to be accomplished through third party.
• Assist in the preparation of Force Account Plans and schedules. Requests for Proposals and budgets for proposed projects by estimating contractor and force account labor and consultant materials and/or choices of materials.
• Document for record all major design concepts, approaches and agreements made with any and all parties involved in the project.
• Furnish Senior Project Engineer with periodic reports as req’d, of progress of the work and Contractor’s compliance with the progress schedule and schedule of Shop Drawings and submittals.
• Assist Senior Project Engineer in project management tasks and supervise Senior Construction Inspector/Field Engineer.
• Monitor consultant’s performance and participate in design review process by coordinating in-house design review tasks.
• Generate written memoranda, technical reports, specifications, audits.
• Conduct job progress meetings and coordinate field progress meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Experience:
Bachelor of Science degree in Civil/Structural Engineering with.
four (4) years satisfactory, progressive relevant work experience in construction mgt.
project management, stormwater analysis review or related experience;.
Polished written, oral and interpersonal skills req’d.
Individual will be assigned projects related to field duties approximately 50%.
Valid driver’s license req’d.
A supervisory signature is not required for submission of a S.A.M. transfer application.
