Supervisory, Administrative, Managerial (S.A.M.) Position

Salary Range*: Minimum-$47,138; Midpoint-$62,842; Maximum-$75,400

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Manages a group of skilled craft employees with minimum direction: schedules the work to maximize economic, efficient and safe work standards. Promotes continuous improvement in safety, reliability and customer satisfaction.
* Oversee the inspection and maintenance of all types of buildings, shops, stations and structures.
* Assure the timely execution of work orders and service calls.
* Responsible for infrastructure building overhaul.
* Responsible for controlling labor and material expenditures to comply with budgetary limitations. Issues all material requisitions.
* Estimates project costs (labor, material, support).
* Supervise force account construction projects.
* Communicates with union personnel and other supervisors to coordinate work activities. Participates in grievance procedures as required.
* Monitors and evaluates the performance and skill levels of various types of technical and service personnel.
* Maintains accurate records on requisitions, work/employee schedules and reports to reduce waste and loss of manpower.
*Responsibile for conducting regular inspections, special inspections.
*Assist engineeering in various design changes in an effort to improve infrastructure and customer service issues.
* Responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, productive environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:
* High School diploma required plus two (2) years technical training in building/construction maintenance/repair,
in addition to three (3) years relevant operating/ maintenance/inspection experience,(inclusive of surveying practices, site work, carpentry, concrete forming) req'd.

* In lieu of the required two (2) years technical training, an additional four (4) years building/construction maintenace experience (inclusive of surveying practices, site work, carpentry, concrete forming experience) may be substituted.

* Appropriate Technical Safety qualifications as req'd by SEPTA.

* Effective oral and written communication skills required.

* Must be able/willing to work variable hours and schedules as assigned inclusive of weekends, holidays and emergency situations as required.

* Familiarity with Local 234 labor agreements and SEPTA Policies/procedures preferred.

* Must possess acceptable attendance, performance and safety records as indicated by standard requirements listed on this posting.

* Must have valid driver's license.
