Ensure the availability and reliability of all Revenue Collection equipment and Components and that all maintenance activities are documented and carried out in an efficient, safe and secure manner; eliminates opportunities for misappropriation or loss of revenue by providing effective supervision over all revenue personnel.
Responsible for providing and ensuring the control of revenue.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Provides close supervision over the installation, repair and maintenance of all electronic/electrical and mechanical fare collection and related equipment to ensure that all activities are properly recorded and carried out according to established procedure.
2. Instructs Fare Collection Maintainers and Specialist in the use and care of mechanical and electronic/electrical components, complex circuits and diagnostic equipment to ensure their proficiency in established, revised or new procedures.
3. Diagnoses and corrects problems in malfunctioning equipment, through the use of electronic/electrical or mechanical test devices and reference to applicable manuals and diagrams, which require a great degree of expertise than that possessed by Maintainer or Specialist personnel.
4. Develops, implements and ensures compliance with maintenance, inspection, and cleaning schedules and procedures for all equipment to provide for a maximum and superior level of support for revenue collection operations.
5. Inspects inventories and usage records of all equipment, components and supplies to ensure proper accountability and that an adequate and economically justifiable amount of materials is available at all times.
6. Conducts daily on-site inspections of repair and collection facilities to ensure that all activities are carried out under safe, secure and orderly conditions.
7. Performs analyses or studies of maintenance and collection routines or records to determine the efficiency or effectiveness of operations; develops and implements recommendations for policy or procedural changes, as required.
8. Develops and implements standards to measure equipment reliability in order to plan an effective preventive maintenance program and to obtain corrective support, if needed, from the vendor.
9. Assist in the reviewing of the day-to-day activities of Revenue Attendant personnel assigned to various revenue collection sites to ensure strict adherence to established control procedures intended to detect and eliminate misappropriation or loss of revenue.
10. Responsible to enforce the adherence to controls of revenue as directed by the Authority as well as develop and suggest any additional controls needed to be assured that revenue and equipment is secured.
11. Researches any observed, suspected or reported occurrences of revenue loss or misappropriated, and initiates and/or cooperates in further investigative activities by other departments or outside agencies. Provides detailed reports of findings, as required.
12. Updates authorized signature lists and confirms adherence to established key and equipment control procedures.
13. Conducts tests of alarm or surveillance systems to ensure their proper performance and initiates and follows up requests for maintenance or repairs, as required.
14. Develops standards with which to evaluate the performance of subordinate personnel and performs other delegated functions, such as timekeeping.
15. Perform other related duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• High School Diploma and a minimum of eleven (11) years related experience in revenue operation environment, which must include the following:
- demonstrated experience in revenue equipment maintenance.
- demonstrated experience monitoring and analyzing maintenance reports related to the revenue collection equipment.
• An equivalent combination of advanced education (one (1) year of formal education equating to two (2) years of experience) may be considered in lieu of the above requirements.
• College course work and/or technical training in electronics/computer system, and/or network experience preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
• Personal computer experience with a working knowledge of spreadsheets and database software packages preferred.
• Must be able to work day or night shifts, weekends, and/or holidays.
• Supervisory experience preferred.
